Description
Natural living proponents and other fans of Himalayan pink salt lamps claim that the negative salt ions released by heating can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain and clam allergy or asthma symptoms. These lamps are said to emit negative ions that help you feel more relaxed and calm. these ions cancel out anxiety-inducing positive ions emitted by technology like cellphones, laptops and televisions.
Ions are invisible molecules that we can’t perceive with any of senses. We inhale these molecules, which eventually make their way into our bloodstream, found in abundance in natural environments. Columbia University did a study on the effectiveness of negative ion therapy studies for people with winter and chronic depression. They found that the molecules have antidepressant activity.

“The best part is that there are relatively no side effects, but we still need to figure out appropriate doses and which people it works beston,” says ion researcher Michael Terman, PhD, of Columbia University in New York
